Us Giants fans are equally confused as to what the hell Farhan is doing. You get rid of Soler, 4 months after signing him to a 3 year deal, and get basically nothing in return (pure salary dump), which was fine, buuuut then they ADD Mark Canha?! What the actual F is going on?! They say they got rid of Soler to open up playing time for Luciano and Matos, etc… but then they BLOCK both players (Matos especially) by adding Canha, a 35 yr old journeyman. Sooo, they actually got older and slower and actually made their lineup WORSE with these moves. It doesn’t make any effin sense whatsoever. You guys said it (and btw Farhan does this shit every single trade deadline), they keep one foot on BOTH sides of the fence.. they dont trade to get better by adding talent, so they signal they want to go young, but then they add old-veteran below-average past-their-prime journeymen like Canha this year (or Pollock last year), and they block their talented young prospects. Farhan basically traded Soler for Canha, and dumped Cobb for nothing. Sooo, they got older, slower, they’re not going young, AND they worsened their chances at the playoffs this year. This front office is so unbelievably inept it’s really starting to piss off even the most pollyannish Giants fans. The Cobb deal is even worse in fact than the Soler deal. Farhan basically paid Cobb 10 million dollars to rehab, he never pitched a single pitch this season, and then he traded him for nothing. Farhan KNEW Cobb needed surgery after last season, and still signed him for this year. THEN, he pays him millions of dollars for his entire rehab, and then trades him for nothing RIGHT when he’s about to finally be healthy to start playing this season. This guy is so hopelessly lost and he is in way over his head with this job, he’s just no where near capable. And it’s been 6 straight years of the same. Farhan Zaidi is one of the worst GM’s (or POBO’s) I’ve ever seen, literally.. no hyperbole. This trade deadline is just yet another example of how heinously horrific this guy is at his job. OH, AND.. even with their “salary dumps,” they STILL didn’t even get under the CBT!! Soooooooo??????? Nothing was accomplished. And oh btw, reports are that the Orioles offered him Coby Mayo for Blake Snell, all Farhan had to do was pay a small amount of Snell’s salary. And he didn’t make the move?!!!! Snell is walking after this season, everyone knows it. AND, the Giants are not making the playoffs either. So he’s going to get nothing for Snell AND miss the playoffs. When he could have picked up Mayo this year. Giants fans would have been pumped as hell to get Mayo for Snell. Even if we miss the playoffs this year, at least we’d know we have Mayo to add to Ramos, Bailey, Matos, etc for the future. But, nope.. we get older and slower this trade deadline, we add no good prospects, we actually *worsen* our chances at the playoffs this year, and our team gets decidedly *worse* by the moves this inept, incompetent, complete failure of a pobo made, yet again. 6 straight years of incompetence. It’s unbelievable. This guy has to go. I desperately want to love my team again. But there’s one singular dumbass who’s ruining this storied franchise and running it into the ground. If he doesn’t get fired soon, the anger is going to turn into apathy among Giants fans sooner than later. And there’s nothing worse for a professional sports team than an apathetic fanbase.

I agree on Astros. But they addressed some starting rotation depth and got a veteran for a rookie who pitched a few games so far and did well in one of them. They sent Montero to the minors and added a relief pitcher who couldn’t possibly be worse. They gave up Loperfido who was not going to get playing time and is on to have a chance to grow with a retooling organization. You can say the same about Bloss. I dk why they had to give up Wagner though. I think it all made sense for the organization but little more than that. Minor shot in the arm

I grew up watching the both the Angels and Pirates so I'm fans of both. As an angels fan we I think we had a terrible deadline. We got a good package for estevez, but its still just a good package for a reliever, it didn't do much to build up our farm system. We could have really built up the system if we traded ward, Anderson, and Rengifo, but we decided not to. They still have some control left but this team isn't going anywhere soon considering they have no farm system, they needed to sell those guys high. As a pirates fan I think we had a pretty good deadline. We improved the team for this year without sacrificing any big prospects for the future, and we got some good near major league ready prospects in exchange of players we didn't really need in our system at all. Definitely better than the Angels

i’m sorry, but the mets had atleast a B+ deadline. we gave up just about nothing for good additions. stearns did a good job knowing that the top guys were going to need big packages as their teams stated to him. yes it’s unfortunate senga got hurt but the bullpen was a huge issue and it got better and our IL stints with our RPs is just about up

Marlins hogher than the O's? Hmm. All they got back were prospects and prospects that are exactly that. Norby and Stowers are ready for the show, despite them optioning Norby. I've never heard of the other players. Maybe they pan out, but it might take years to see the results.

Question: Why aren't the tigers higher? They traded everyone they were supposed to and should've and didn't get fleeced. I understand not all the way up as that should be reserved if they got a kikuchi like haul for Flaherty, but 1 higher atleast, no? Trading Skubal isn't a knock, hell imo it's a + but still def not a -

Robbie I’m not gonna lie as much as I understand the Yankees had a good deadline. I get reactions from people like those at talkin yanks. As a Yankee fan, we just expect them to do everything and to get all the big names and if we don’t we consider it a failure. As a Yankee fan who doesn’t have nearly as big of a head and can actually understand if we don’t, I gotta agree with you and say it was a good deadline

With the trades to the NL and first year guys coming available, the list will be long and this’ll help rank people.

I'm really not sure how the Os are anywhere near an "A". Rogers is not good, he has a 4.53 era and a 1.53 whip, and they overpaid so so so so much. Ser Anthony and Soto are very inconsistent, arent high leverage guys. You say Pache hits lefties well but is hitting 229 with a 662 ops against lefties this year. They went from Crochet/Skubal talks to getting Eflin and Rogers. You don't mention anything the Os gave up in their trades when they overpay which should certainly factor into their grade but then you mention it for the Astros and Padres and it harms their grade. Ya the Padres gave up a lot but this is how they do things they got great players back and always trading prospects is working so far for them. You say they sold the farm for "relievers" like come on Scott and Adams are good. You gotta be way harsher on some teams that made bad trades or didn't do enough. Some teams are way too high and some arent low enough.

I honestly have no idea how to grade the O's. Trades for pitching makes a ton of sense. Austin Slater and Eloy Jimenez, not so much. Jimenez maybe to DH against lefty pitching. But at the same time they gave up starting pitching. Middling minor leaguers, but still.
